Whose Job is it anyway?
It all started with the thought of checking out the sale at the Favourite Shop keeping in mind the discounts that were waiting for me at the BIBA counter. So there I go with all zest for shopping on Commercial Street...
Till I come upon a sea of humanity (literally!) People were pushing, shoving, pulling, killing and murdering for grabbing that perfect attire...well, the last two were exaggerations but I am sure it would had lead to it if the shop had not closed earlier.
Not a single square inch available to move around, I suddenly felt the BMTC buses are probably roomier than this.
Looking at the people I had a thought..does everybody need a change of wardrobe today itself??? Cant blame them though! I myself had similar thoughts..
Coming back to the Zoo called Favourite Shop I quickly took on to the modus operandi of elbow-and-grab and was able to save a dress from the clutches of what looked like a she bear with hair all over, even the face.
The Que to the cash counter was no better. A long snake like Que with people trying to elbow in. It is then that I had a vision.....
I saw myself surrounded by the sea of people for the next one hour and how I would look after 01 hour. I shuddered at the thought. Kept the piece on some of the hangers nearby as I was too wimpy to fight the sea of people again to keep it where it belongs to.
It is then that the most funniest of all things happened. I was stopped by a store clerk who seemed to have a job of only standing and shouting at the crowd, and he screamed at me to keep the dress at the appropriate location,to which I replied to him that I refuse to cross the wave of people to put it back when I can easily leave the store by taking the next right turn, moreover it was his job to ensure all clothes are kept in the racks- not mine. I perhaps would had gracefully done the deed had the store not been so crowded. Also, I was taken aback with the attitude of the store clerks with clients who essentially pay for their livelihood.
Sale, no sale, its no more a Favourite shop anymore.
